If you repeatedly use "READ NAV" the read telematics data occationally seems to move arround. Please help me track down the reason for this and what to do to correct the problem!
#Navcoder software code
Is there a HEX code for resetting the radio / nav unit to factory configĭo I really have to go to BMW to have the system re-coded? (Expensive.) From here you can't make an emergency call.ĭo you have the HEX codes for activating (coding) these things? It also has disappeared from the main menu on the nav screen. I can't test TMC where I live since there is no TMC broadcasts, but during the vacation this summer in Sweden it worked flawlessly.Īnother thing is that my ASSIST function is gone!
#Navcoder software software
Because if this I can't switch TMC on, or configure it.īefore using the Navcoder software everything worked just fine, but now it don't. Using the NAVIGATION menu to activate it I realize that several menu items has disapeared !!! (I used to have "Traffic Info" and "T-info Plus" in the menus. Earlier there were ALWAYS a TMC symbol on the screen: GREY when not active, RED when not receiving, and GREEN when up and running. When pressing "INFO" button to toggle the RDS-TMC i can see it's swithed OFF! Only way to have TMC status "GREEN" is to toggle ignition ON-OFF. I often get the TMC indication in RED now. Often I get error messages from Navcoder stating there is some incorrect parameter or something similar.Īfter playig arround with Navcoder for a while (experimenting with most options, coding the radio to another model etc.) I realize that I've lost som functionality in my NAV system, the TMC is not working correctly and my ASSIST is gone. You can use this signal to tell when it's 'clear to send', but you need to do it in software.I'm having some serious problems after coding my NAV unit with your "Navcoder": The nav system was originally set up for Europe, 16:9 monitor, upgraded to MkIV DVD and a BM54 radio (I THINK).īecause I wanted the "NAGSCREEN" (US version) to customize for displaying a funny message, I swithed to US using Navcoder ver. It has an output pin that goes high whenever it receives traffic. The TH3122 doesn't in itself deal with bus contention.
#Navcoder software drivers
It may work like that, but I'm not sure if you would need USB drivers etc.įrom what I have read and I am understanding is the Melexsis TH3122 chip in Resler's iBus allows the single wire iBus interface to convert to RX / TX and allows for the proper bus contention / collision detection as you mentioned above. Armed with this info, you can develop the app.Ĭan I connect Resler's iBus interface to the Arduino Mega ADK through the USB host on the board and use a ble 4.0 bluetooth shield from seed for example and connect the tablet via bluetooth to send and transmit the different data. Navcoder gives readable translations of pretty much every command, so it's quite easy to see what's going on. Hook it up to the car and press buttons and log all the traffic. So what I understood from your post is that I should use Resler's iBus interface and Navcoder to get all the hex values for the different key presses and various data from the different systems and use this info to help develop the app for Android. I think it was the other way around - Thanks Robin :D Thanks to both of you for the help so far. Not sure if I am on the correct path for this project.

I understand I would need to create an app on the Android device to generate and capture the data.įrom what I have read and I am understanding is the Melexsis TH3122 chip in Resler’s iBus allows the single wire iBus interface to convert to RX / TX and allows for the proper bus contention / collision detection as you mentioned above.ĭo you know what stepper motors are used in the AC system to control the mixing flaps? I have seen your posts on this forum and I also have seen some posts on a few bmw forums.

Hi Robin2 - I think Ian helped out with your question about how to send the ibus info to arduino.
